 SUMMER SCHOOL AT MHS - 2017

Summer School at MHS is open only to students who will be in grades 9-12 for the 2017-2018 academic year. No students who will be entering 8th grade for the 2017-2018 school year are eligible to take the courses either for the purposes of attaining credit or enrichment.

Algebra 2 & Geometry Credit Courses:
 

This summer, S.O.A.R will be offering the following Summer School courses: 

Credit Classes: Based on Pass/Fail

Geometry (5 Credits)----New PARCC Requirements (click on the link above)

Algebra II (5 Credits)----New PARCC Requirements (click on the link above) 

Financial Literacy (2.5 Credits)

  
The courses will be taught over a five week period beginning July 5th and ending August 5th
 

Geometry and Algebra II are full year courses (120 hours ) and will be in session every day from

8 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. June 29-August 3rd
School Closed: July 3 & 4th 
 

 

Financial Literacy and  Precalculus Preview, are half-year courses (60 hours ) and will also run from    

8 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. but will be offered in two sessions:

Session 1: June 29th  – July 18th

Session 2: July 19th – August 3rd 

 

**Please note the Financial Literacy class will satisfy EITHER the state graduation requirement in Financial Literacy, OR count for 2.5 MHS credits toward career exploration.

 

 Science Preview Classes
 
In addition, we will be offering Biology, Chemistry, Physics AND our newly added Environmental Science preview courses as well for students entering grades 9-12. We will offer these courses in 2 sessions. 
 
Session I: June 22nd- June 30th  (7 days) from 7:30am-1:00pm * please note that on June 22nd the class will run from 3:30-8:30P as a result of professional development for staff.
 
**Session II: Monday, August 7th- August 15th (7 days) 7:30am-1:00pm
 
Session I and Session II cover the same objectives.  Session II is not Part II of Session I.
 
 
 
Please be advised....
Once you have signed up for a course there will be NO REFUNDS if you cancel your registration. Refunds will ONLY be given if a class is cancelled due to enrollment numbers not meeting 10 students.
** We will ONLY be able to refund for the amount for the class and NOT the convenience fee of either 3.95% for credit card or $1.75 for online check**
